Are you an artist who also struggles with self-care, taking time off, rejuvinating? Join us in the Domincan Republic for a week of sharing, rest, and creative and spiritual rejuvenation. From artistic to acrobatic activities, you will have fun, learn new skills and achieve things you would never have expected.
We’ve prepared activities to assist in the good intentions you desire and make them a reality with a practice you will be able to take home with you and implement into your daily life.

Samana – Completely redecorated and redesigned, this spacious restaurant near the main bar and lagoon pool welcomes you mornings, lunchtime and evenings with friends and family for international cuisine from the buffet.
Hispaniola – This restaurant welcomes you for sumptuous international cuisine served from the buffet, close to the water’s edge. The view over the lagoon from the superb terrace will take your breath away
The Indigo Beach Lounge restaurant – In a charming waterside location with a wonderful view over the lagoon, this restaurant, bar and lounge had a total makeover this winter and is the ideal venue for relaxing gourmet moments.
You can have late breakfast, a light lunch by the water, or get a tasty takeaway to eat on the beach.
You can also dine in an idyllic setting with table service (booking required). Enjoy local specialties, fish and sea food in a quiet ambience – adults only, from 18 years old. As the night goes on the restaurant transforms into a nightclub where you can dance the night away under the stars. The bar is open all day, for drinks and refreshments a stone’s throw from the water.

Cielo – Located on the first floor of the main building opposite the swimming pool, this bar has beautifully refined decor. Take the time to enjoy the tranquillity of the sea view from the terrace. Cigar humidor (at extra cost).
The Indigo Beach Lounge Bar – On one of the island’s finest beaches in the shade of the coconut palms, this bar has a touch of the exotic and a festive note, with its spacious dance floor, and terrace with a commanding view of the sea. An ideal spot for a refreshing pause in the daytime or to learn to dance the Bachata and the Merengue. At night the stars shine bright between the coconut trees.The bar also serves light snacks.
Hibiscus Bar & Lounge – This adults-only bar provides the perfect Zen atmosphere to enjoy our peaceful vacation ambience while relaxing poolside. Enjoy healthy smoothies, teas and light snacks while blissfully soaking in the sun.

DWAYNE MORGAN
Dwayne Morgan began his career as a spoken word artist in 1993. In 1994, he founded Up From The Roots entertainment, to promote the positive artistic contributions of African Canadian and urban influenced artists.
Morgan is a 2017 finalist for the Sheri-D Wilson Golden Beret Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Spoken Word, and a 2016 finalist for the Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Arts. In 2014, he was the recipient of the Renaissance Planet Africa Award for Career Achievement, and was acknowledged by the Ontario Black History Society as a Community Trailblazer. In 2013, Morgan was inducted in to the Scarborough Walk of Fame. Morgan is a member of the Writers Union of Canada, a 2012 Canadian Festival of Spoken Word National Poetry Slam Champion, and has received both the African Canadian Achievement Award, and the Harry Jerome Award for Excellence in the Arts. Morgan is the winner of 3 Canadian Urban Music Awards (2001, 2003, 2005). In 2005, Morgan was recognized as Poet of Honour at the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word in Vancouver, and in 2008 his contribution to the Arts and Canadian society were recognized on the Legacy Black History Month poster.
Morgan has published 9 books; No Apologies (2016), Before I Was Born (2015), Everyday Excellence (2013), Her Favourite Shoes (2011), The Sensual Musings of Dwayne Morgan (2010), The Making of A Man (2005), The Man Behind The Mic (2002), Long Overdue (1999), and chapbooks, The Revolution Starts Within (1996), and Straight From The Roots (1995). In 2009, Morgan’s work was translated into French, culminating in the book, Le Making of d’un Homme. His albums include, Another Level (1997), The Evolution (2001), Soul Searching (2003), A Decade in the Making (2004), Mellow Mood: The End of the Beginning (2007), and Idle Hands (2011). In 2008, Morgan released a commemorative DVD entitled, Dwayne Morgan The First Fifteen.
Dwayne has performed for the former Governor General of Canada, The Honourable Michaelle Jean, the late leader of the NDP, Jack Layton, and has shared the stage with many of Canada’s top artists including Russell Peters, Kardinal Offishal, Jully Black, and Nelly Furtado, while opening for international artists Alicia Keys, and recording with Canadian artists, including Drake.
To further explore his creativity, Dwayne collaborated with Driftwood Studios to film, Three Knocks, a ten minute film based on his domestic violence poem of the same name, which premiered in Toronto’s Reel World Film Festival. In March 2008, Dwayne hosted his first photography exhibit, The Sum of Her Parts, exploring female body image.
Dwayne’s work ethic has taken him across Canada, the United States, Jamaica, Turkey, Trinidad, Bermuda, Barbados, England, Scotland, Belgium, Budapest, Germany, France, Norway, Ghana, and Holland. His emphasis on quality has driven his success, and has made him a well-respected component of Toronto’s urban music community, as well as the North American, and Global, spoken word scenes.
DEBORAH “DEE” PENIUK
Vancouver native, Deborah Peniuk is a woman of many hats: Owner of AYA Life, entrepreneur, travel consultant, writer at Life, Bliss and All of This, and most recently she’s added cancer-thriver to her resume. She has also been a contributing writer to Parvati Magazine, Sweat Equity Magazine, contributing author in Sharing Our Stories, Our Selves, Our Success – An Anthology of Women’s Empowerment Stories Volume 3 and two entries in a collection of poetry now residing in the US Library of Congress. She has also written for various websites and blogs, talking about travel and wellness and contributing recipes and reviews of food, tourism & hotels from around the globe.
Deborah began her travel agent career after graduating from the Institute of Technology in British Columbia with a degree in Tourism Marketing and studying Hotel Operations at the Canadian Tourism College. With over 18 years of tourism experience under her belt, Deborah is well recognized and respected within the travel industry. During her career, Deborah worked as an Event Cashier for the Hyatt Regency in Vancouver, managed both a bar and restaurant and held down a senior management role at a Hilton property north of London in the United Kingdom.
Deborah also helped in creating and managing a home-based network of 30+ agents, implementing many training initiatives as well as sparking an interest in small group travel based on a health and wellness niche. Deborah has been recognized for her travel consulting expertise and leadership as an entrepreneur by Women’s Post and The Karina Chronicles.In 2010,Deborah founded AYA Life, a home-based travel agency, based in Toronto, Canada, and servicing clients from around the world. She also recently was the first Canadian involved completing her certification in Elite Wellness Travel from Travel Leaders Group based in the United States of America.
In 2015, Deborah was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Rather than letting the disease debilitate her, she rose above, educated herself and fought it with a positive attitude. Deborah blogs about her passion for life, travel and wellness –especially during her cancer journey –on Life, Bliss and All of This. She is also a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader.
Deborah Peniuk has most recently been a guest speaker at the Gilda’s Club of Toronto, talking about health & wellness while travelling, travel insurance and living with Lymphedema. She is also a new After Breast Cancer Ambassador for the S HE Thrives Graduate Ambassador Program by After Breast Cancer and will be one of 12 Cancer Thrivers in ABC’s Annual Calendar for 2017/2018.
