Mariellen Ward has traveled in India for more than a year, altogether, over the past five years. She is looking forward to sharing her passion for India and her discoveries. As you travel, you will visit schools, orphanages, literacy programs and/or women's cooperatives and experience the India rarely seen by tourists – and find stories of hope that will inspire you. Mariellen has studied yoga in Canada for about 15 years, primarily at YogaSpace in Toronto, where she received her teacher training certification in 2005; and in India with Kausthub Desikachar and the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, Yogi Vishvektu of Anand Prakash Yoga Ashram in Rishikesh and Swami Brahmdev (a disciple of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother) of Aurovalley Ashram. Two departures: October 2011 and February 2012. Two-week itinerary, with an optional six-day extension to stay at an ashram in Rishikesh and to visit the sacred city of Haridwar. Tour group size is restricted to 10-18 to ensure group intimacy and the opportunity for authentic travel experiences.
